BLUE WOLF TREKS

     

    You might know the name from a green liquor made by monks, but it is also a massif at the east of Lyon close to the Jura, an area known as the 'pre-Alps'.
    Somewhat smaller than the other pre-Alps mountain chain such as the Vercors, the Chartreuse, thanks to a tourmented relief, is offering a huge variety of hikes.
    Footpaths full of solitude, deep forest soaking in freshness, thousand of flowers scattered in gorgeously green meadows, and imposing limestone cliffs full of light, are welcoming walkers of all levels and abilities.

      

    In its forest of Beech and Spruce which cover the majority of its territory, we come accross Red Deer, roe Deer and Moufflon. On its ridges, the mountain pastures studded with mountain pines are traveled through by Chamois and flew over by the Golden Eagle and Peregrine Falcon.
    In its valleys, farm lands are the hunting ground of Red Kites, Buzzards, Foxes, Wild cats and even Linxes.
    While walking its footpathes we come accross some gorgeous flowers such as Lady's Fingers, Lady's Slipper, Yellow Gentian, Martagon Lily and a lot more...
